ESL announces new $50,000 league


The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has announced that they will be hosting a CS:GO tournament featuring $50,000 in total prizes.

The upcoming season will have three new leagues ranked by skill level, including a free entry level (Open League), a semi-pro level (Major League), and the pro level (Pro League).

The Pro League, will have sixteen of the best teams all over Europe fighting for a chance at the $48,000 total prize pool. They will be split into two groups of either for the initial group stage and only 4 teams in each group weill advance to a bracket style single-elimination tournament.

The Major League will have 32 teams with a prize pool of $2,000 chunk of the total prize pool. The top four teams will receive $500 and a chance to advance to the Pro League.

Finally, the Open League will be free to join but will have no prize pool. The wininer will simply earn a chance to advance to the Major League.

The new season of the ESL League will begin on December 3, with qualifiers starting as early as November 8.
