Battle.Net World Championship Series

  • One of the biggest Starcraft Tournament series in the nation, hosted by Blizzard themselves.


  • Dreamhack is held once a year, over the summer and this year it will be from June 15-18.

Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC)

  • ESWC is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and promises to have an awesome lineup this year. The schedule will be officially announced in March 2013

Global Star League (GSL)

  • Arguably the biggest and most celebrated Starcraft tournament in the world. Was originally famous for its Brood War competitions, and now for Starcraft 2. 
  • The tournament takes place entirely in Korea.

Global Star Team League (GSTL)

  • Team league version the GSL. 
  • Teams compete individually in a "king-of-the-hill" format, and the first team with 5 victories wins, the loser of each match is replaced with another different teammate.

Homestory Cup

  • Annual tournamant based in Germany, hosted by TaketTV

ESL Intel Extreme Masters (IEM)

  • IEM has numerous events throughout the year, most recent of which took place in Brazil. Check their site for up-to-date info on the upcoming events.

IGN Pro League (IPL)

  • Nearly nightly action from the IPL can be watched right here.

Lone Star Clash

  • Hosted each year by TeSPA, but there is not one currently scheduled.

Major League Gaming (MLG)

  • MLG Hosts championship-style tournaments every season.
  • This years Winter Championship has been scheduled for March 15-17, 2013.
  • They also host weekly Heart of the Swarm Showdowns Monday through Friday at 5pm EST and can be watched here.

North American Star League (NASL)

  • Weekly taped matches with full standings and an end-of-season playoff tournament.
  • Their schedule is posted and constantly updated here, and all the games can be watched here.

World Cyber Games (WCG)

  • As of 2011, the World Cyber Games is the largest global eSports tournament.  Commonly called the eSports Olympics, the annual event includes an opening ceremony, and end-of-tournament presentation of gold, silver and bronze medals.
